In the 1988 film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" there is an entrance--a portal, if you will, that leads from the 'real' world into "Toon Town"...home of every animated character from Bugs Bunny to Bruno the Bear; from Yosemite Sam to Tom and Jerry; from Sylvester and Tweety…

Here's an online 'toon I did a while ago. I'm the voice of R. Me Ant, a diminutive drill instructor who puts Sylvester, Tweety & Hector through the paces in basic training.

It's always nice when you get that email or IM message telling you that you got a new job. Sometimes you don't spend too much time in understanding how technical the job might get because you are happy the work is coming in.
Very recently the lovely Fernanda from Produlz.com contacted me about an Arabic VO for an industrial video. The job was straight forward... get a script translated (I don…

I knew it would come. The day when writing about the same subjects over and over again becomes a drudgery. I wanted to depart, though just temporarily, from the usual articles I do at work, and try my skill on scriptwriting.
My
scriptwriting friend provided a few ideas on how to bring out the script…

Back whenever, voiceovers made tenth place on MSN.com’s “Top 10 Coolest Jobs” list. At the time, I refuted the other nine and suggested that a VO career simply must be number one in that offers just about everything anyone (well, at least I and presumably you) could want.
That got me thinking.
There are a hundred things I love about working in this field and I know I'm not the only one who loves my job. So I figured I’d step away from the mic for a few minutes and list, in no particular order,…

OK gang, fun idea time!
As my blog is about voice over (vox), marketing (market) and advertising (tising) I thought we should have some summer fun here and combine all three into a voice talent business card gallery.
Simply email me a decent quality jpeg picture of your business card (front and back if you print on both sides) and we’ll show them here. Email peter (insert the at sign) audioconnell dot com and I’ll post all entries. Maybe we’ll have a card beauty contest and pick a winner….we’l…

Nowadays it’s more important than ever, to have a demo that stands out above the crowd. You NEED something different. Jason LeBlanc, with the help of some pro video guys, has come up with a unique way to change your MP3 voice demo into a You Tube Style video. I’ve booked several animation jobs because I sent a video demo instead of an audio MP3. If you’re interested drop by
My Next Demo and have a look see. It really is worth it. Thus ends…

Bonjour Mes Ami,
It's been a tough week. A few hours ago I spoke to my Uncle in the UAE to give him my condolences on losing his wife. He's my favorite uncle on my mother's side... tough times.
I've been living alone for the past few weeks.. my wife is in Jordan with my daugher visiting her parents. Which is probably one of the reasons why I am so introspective these days. I miss them horribly but inshallah (God Willing) I'll be joining my family in Jordan in a couple of weeks for a bit of vac…
