Start the New Year with Bob Bergen’s ADVANCED Animation Voice-Over Weekend Workshop, February 28 and March 1, 2009 in Dallas. This workshop takes you through the entire process of what it's like to audition and record a cartoon!

Each student will have the opportunity to “audition" for up to 15 characters. Based on their "auditions" Bob will then cast and record an episode of the cartoon. Each student will receive an audio copy of the finished product. This is a great opportunity to know what it's like to actually work as a voice-over artist in an animated film. (Previous animation vo technique training with Bob or another coach, or animation vo experience is required to take this workshop.)

10% OFF IF YOU DEPOSIT BY JANUARY 15th! More details are on the link below:

For those of you who haven’t seen this, here’s a review of Bob’s December NYC Workshop in Toonzone Magazine:

Have a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year !

Howdy to all in Big D!
A fellow VO talent, Native Texan and resident of the Dallas area checking in on the new group!
I hope to meet all of you soon at one of the local VO meetings.
I am relatively new to the industry and insight on getting into the local market is always a plus. Thanks for creating the group Chuck!

Hey everybody: An FYI that I'm presenting a Sunday July 13 day in Tulsa OK at Tulsa University open to the city. See my site www.voicesvoices.com for details. Two workshops same day. The Business of VO and Audio Book Narration Techniques. Morning and afternoon sessions. Enroll in one or both. As visiting artist professor at Tulsa U. this year and next, I can tell you that the workshops are held on their beautiful huge soundstage in the theatre building on campus and we'll be RECORDING everyone at the front and end and you'll receive your MP3 recordings too. Tulsa U students get big discount. Also big discount when you enroll in the entire day instead of only one of the workshops. Take home handouts too. JOIN US and please please tell your Oklahoma friends and colleagues to contact me directly or see website: btzol@aol.com www.voicesvoices.com THANK YOU!!

The local jobs in DFW come two ways: You sell clients yourself or an agent here gets you the audition or the gig. We do have big advertising agencies in Dallas and a few medium sized ones in Ft. Worth however, and some nationals still come out of here, all from agents booking you. That's why I say it's fine to "play" the new online job sources websites but you MUST have agents booking you also. You should have agents in several cities, Dallas, Houston, and perhaps Okla or maybe one in Louisiana. Some vo talents like having an agent in Atlanta. You also might think about getting an agent in a town where you visit relatives at least twice a year, things of that sort. Being union myself, I have observed, of course, that as a right-to[work-for-less state (my pun) most of the local work is non-union in Texas except for the big advertising agency accounts and even some of those have turned non-union now. That's why I love having agents in union states.
